About my newsletter, unofficially titled Write Your Obsessions:

A writing teacher in grad school told me "write your obsessions, and your readers will follow you." Now that I'm in my mid-thirties, I can embrace that fully, because the artistic anxiety of youth has begun to dissipate. My newsletter, like my essay collection, is a celebration of artistic obsession. I will share with you my thoughts on writing craft, living an artist's life in a capitalist-fueled world, pop-culture obsessions like murder mystery shows and reality TV, and perhaps some lyric essays and poetry I write just for this newsletter.
